On 14 April 2026, a fire engulfed a 12-storey residential building in central Tirana, injuring 11 people and prompting multiple arrests across the building's management and construction chain.

I was invited by Top Channel Albania to speak on the incident as an HSE and Fire Protection consultant — covering the role of active and passive fire protection systems, building material standards, and what residents and building managers can do to be better prepared.

The core message was simple: fire safety failures are rarely down to a single cause, and the cost of prevention is always smaller than the cost of reaction.
